The national media ignores Rodney Stich. The better known alternative outlets, such as Judicial Watch and Accuracy in Media, are no better. Consequently, I think, sometimes he has not looked too closely at the speaking platforms offered him. Peymon Mottahedeh (“Freedom Law School”) may be a self-deceptive fraud, Rayelan Allan a nutball, and Greg Szymanski (“The Investigative Journal” on the Republic Broadcasting Network) a crank, but at least they gave Mr. Stich, who is none of these things, a public voice and made free recordings available.

America creates its own enemies (video)
Interview with ex CIA agent Michael Scheuer.  Q: Bin Laden is gone.  Who is Washington’s number one enemy now?  A: Washington’s enemy is an enemy that doesn’t exist.  We’re fighting an Islamic enemy that Washington believes is out to kill us because we have elections, because we’re free, because we have women in the workplace.  It’s an enemy that doesn’t exist, it didn’t exist when Bin Laden was alive, it doesn’t exit now.  America is being attacked because of its foreign policy in the Muslim world: because of its support for Israel, because of its support for the Saudi police state, because of its presence on the Arab peninsula.  And until we accept that, until Americans can say to each other: whether you support aid to Israel or not, our relationship with Israel is causing this war, we are not going to be able to defeat this enemy. ... Israel ... as a country is not the problem.  The real problem is the leaders of the Jewish-American community in the United States who influence and corrupt our Congress to support Israel, when we have no interest there.

We can’t follow some aspects of his Christianity and disagree with some of his conjectures about 9/11. Remove the crank allegations from the “9/11 truth movement” and what’s left are the real conspiracies.
A Critical Analysis of the Collapse From a Demolition Viewpoint  (pdf)
It’s a pity the author, an explosives engineer, of this otherwise sober article becomes peevish at the end.  By Brent Blanchard, senior editor for Implosionworld.com and Director of Field Operations at Protec Documentation Services, Inc., which documents demolitions.
Why Did the World Trade Center Collapse?
by Thomas W. Eagar and Christopher Musso, M.I.T.  Applies to buildings 1 and 2, but not 7.  Buildings 1 & 2 disintegrated starting at the top. At any instant, the topmost uncollapsed floor collapsed next, until all floors were at the bottom. This is the opposite of a controlled demolition, where the building disintegrates starting at the bottom, always the bottommost uncollapsed floor collapsing next. Building 7 disintegrated like that, that is, like a controlled demolition.)

The Bin Laden Assassination Hoax
The fabrications about Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman, weapons of mass destruction – to name a few recent frauds – are reason enough to distrust the administration’s latest war story. Staked out for weeks, unarmed, and the number one wanted man on earth, the man who allegedly knew more about 9/11 than anyone else, couldn’t be taken alive? Body destroyed hours later? Sea burial a Muslim custom? No authentic photos?

October Surprise
During the 1980 presidential race between President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr. (Reagan’s running mate and CIA director during the Ford administration) and William Casey (Reagan’s campaign chief and later CIA director) held secret meetings with mullahs of Iran. Bush and Casey negotiated a delay in the release of 52 American hostages, who otherwise would have been released in October, until after the election. (The “surprise” was that the hostages where not released in October.) The intent was to prevent President Carter from looking good and thus to increase Reagan’s chance of victory.

No One Would Listen (video)
Today show interview (March 1, 2010) of the book’s author, Harry Markopolos, about Madoff and friends’ Ponzi scheme.

The Frame-up of  Edgar J. Steele
Edgar Steele, a defense attorney specializing in CPS abuse and free speech, is a political prisoner.  Why was the FBI consorting with the ADL on this case?  The star witness for the prosecution, Larry Fairfax, was a paid FBI informant and admitted crook. The judge allowed him to testify at the trial. In a pre-trial hearing on the admissibility of evidence two audio experts testified in behalf of Mr. Steele.  George Papcun, a forensic audiology expert, including voice morphing, said there were an extraordinary number of anomalies in the FBI recordings, suggesting they had been faked. The other expert, Bennett Walsh, a former New York City detective with years of experience investigating audio recordings, said the FBI recordings had been tampered with. On May 2, 2011 – after the federal judge refused to allow either witness to testify – Mr. Steele was convicted on all counts.  Judge:  B. Lynn Winmill,  U.S. District Court (a Clinton nominee);  Presecutor:  Traci J. Whelan,  Assistant U.S. Attorney;  FBI agents:  Michael Sotka, and others;  Colleague of judge:  Mark Haas.
Mr. Steele is a white separatist and also critical of many Jews. Suppose you think that’s disgusting, like some people think pornography is disgusting. Then consider this: “It is not very inspiring to fight for the freedom of the purveyors of pornography or their customers. But in the transition to statism, every infringement of human rights has begun with the suppression of a given right’s least attractive practitioners. In this case, the disgusting nature of the offenders makes it a good test of one’s loyalty to a principle.” — Ayn Rand in “Censorship: Local and Express” (1973)

Pearl Harbor and FDR

An essay by John Flynn.
Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor
by Robert Stinnett, who approves of FDR’s deceit.  The author uncovered the McCollum Memorandum of October 7, 1940, the authenticity of which even his critics acknowledge. The memo’s significance isn’t that FDR followed it – there’s no hard evidence he read it – but rather that the memo was undoubtedly written to “please the boss.” Such a belligerent series of proposals – culminating in “If by these means Japan could be led to commit an overt act of war, so much the better.” – never would have been put on paper had they not been in the air, the atmosphere of the Roosevelt administration.

A longwinded and at times annoyingly boastful lecture by Patrick Wood who eventually, after wasting about five minutes getting to the point, provides a larger historical perspective than the above. The term “technocracy” – rule by technicians – is misleading. The evil is plain old aristocracy, with engineers and technicians merely in its service.

Generally avoid:
NewsMax — a neocon disinformation outlet for the vulgar.
Accuracy in Media — though they’ve done good work on TWA flight 800, this is just window-dressing. You know something’s fishy when they advertise a documentary film on Iraq as praised by a former Israeli ambassador, and promote neocons like Ann Coulter and Frank Gaffney (the latter signed the June 3, 1997 “Statement of Principles” from the Project for the New American Century).
Drudge Report — the news it leaves out is its news.
From The Wilderness (Michael Ruppert) — these days in large part nutty.
Rense — a mixture of wisdom and nuttiness.
Much of the “9/11 truth movement” — the truth about the cover-up is bad enough without exaggerating it.
WorldNetDaily — dosed with Rapturists/Zionists.
The Huffington Post — we might be able to stomach the leftist slant were it not for Arianna’s friends.
What Really Happened — embraces the contradiction of Marxism and the Bill of Rights. Revels in doom.
Henry Makow — “A depraved satanic cult called the Illuminati is waging a covert war against humanity.” Whenever I hear the word “Illuminati” I release the safety-catch on ... I meant to say my eyes glaze over. Truth mixed with a lot of nonsense.

The Israel Lobby
by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt.
Short version
London Review of Books, 23 March 2006.

Long version  (pdf)
“... saying that Israel and the United States are united by a shared terrorist threat has the causal relationship backwards: rather, the United States has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around.”
“... the mere existence of the Lobby suggests that unconditional support for Israel is not in the American national interest. If it was, one would not need an organized special interest group to bring it about. But because Israel is a strategic and moral liability, it takes relentless political pressure to keep U.S. support intact.”

Interview
“The Israel lobby and its influence has been a taboo subject for too long. It is very important for the national interest that this matter be discussed at length and in a serious way in the media and on Capitol Hill. Too much is at stake to continue treating the lobby and Israel like two elephants in the room.”

The Lobby Strikes Back
Debate on Al Jazeera 4 April 2008. Prof. Mearsheimer maintains that were it not for Israel the U.S. would not have invaded Iraq. Prof. Finkelstein disagrees, maintaining that U.S. and Israeli leaders had a coincidental interest in invading Iraq, that at worst Israel helped U.S. leaders implement their own decision. Starts 3:15 minutes into Part 1.

The diversion of US weapons-grade uranium to Israel  (audio)
Interview with Grant Smith.  How Israel and its U.S. supporters established the front company, NUMEC Inc. in Apollo, PA, to steal weapons grade plutonium for Israel’s clandestine nuclear weapons program. Declassified files reveal how the FBI kept tabs on Zalman Shapiro, NUMEC’s president; David Lowenthal and Abraham Feinbergand, investors; and Israeli spies and nuclear weapons scientists whom Shapiro invited to visit. The Department of Energy still lists 269 kg of NUMEC’s bomb-grade material as “unaccounted for.”

Ron Paul
U.S. Congressional Representative (Texas, nominally Republican), perhaps the only congress-critter walking on two legs. It’s been said that when you see a vote of 434 to 1, you know the 1 was Ron Paul. Unfortunately he waffles on the immigration issue, and has little sense of government corruption beyond socialism.

The Constitution
Some interesting thoughts by Tom Mullen. The Declaration of Independence was the greatest document in human history. As for the Constitution (pre-Bill of Rights), one has to wonder about some of its authors’ motivation.

The Tea Party’s “small government” fraud
“... the GOP is once again donning their libertarian, limited-government masks in order to ... co-opt the energy and passion of the Ron-Paul-faction ... .”

          Energy
Oil is a vital commodity, but there is no oil crisis and any alleged dearth of oil is not a legitimate foreign policy issue. Even were there an oil crisis, there is nuclear power and who knows what other technical innovations that could flourish in a county free from crazy regulations and confiscatory taxation.

The Energy Non-Crisis
by Lindsay Williams.  (Originally The Key to the Energy Crisis.)  At a Ford Hall Forum lecture question period in 1976, when oil prices were record high, Ayn Rand said “I don’t believe there is an energy crisis.” This book presents evidence that the oil crisis of the 1970’s was manufactured by elements within the government. There is vastly more oil under Alaska’s North Slope than all of Saudi Arabia.

The Oil Reserve Fallacy
by Prof. Robert Kovarik.
“Proven reserves are not a measure of future supply.”
“... the Middle East does not have two thirds of the world’s oil reserves.”
The two thirds estimate refers “to a narrow category of ‘proven’ oil reserves, not to ‘every ... barrel of oil in the world’ ... .”
“According to a US Geological Survey report quietly published in 2000, there is more oil outside the Middle East than inside the region.” Saudi Arabia, to take one country, “may have one quarter of the world’s identified oil reserves ..., but it has only about 16 percent of all ultimately recoverable reserves ... .”

Abiotic Oil ?
I was brought up on the idea that oil came from prehistoric plants, “fossil fuel” you know, and that therefore the amount of oil underneath the earth is necessarily very limited. But the notion that oil comes from prehistoric vegetation is largely conjecture, and it has competition. Some Russians maintain that oil is produced by an ongoing abiotic process, a process not involving living things, and at a rate that even today exceeds consumption. Apparently they have some good evidence.
